Princetown, Dartmoor, Devon. (Circular Walks)

Princetown is the highest village within Dartmoor National Park, and just about at its heart. It is the home of Dartmoor Prison, once incarcerating category A criminals such as the Cray brothers. But Princetown is now known for a good many other, more amenable assets. Dartmoor Brewery is situated within the village, concocting beers such as Jail Ale and Dartmoor IPA.

Mullion, Conwall. (Circular walk)

Mullion is the largest village on the Lizard and has shops, Inns, cafes and restaurants, craft shops and art galleries. In the centre of the village is the 15th century church of St Mellanus. Mullion Cove has a pretty working harbour, protected from the winter gales that rage across Mount's Bay by two large sea walls. The harbour was completed in 1895 and financed by Lord Robartes of Lanhydrock as a recompense to the fishermen for several disastrous pilchard seasons. You can still see the old pilchard cellar and net store.

Steall Falls, Glen Nevis. (Linear Walk)

In Glen Nevis, there are delightful walks to satisfy the low-level hiker and photographer. One such walk is a hike through the gorge in the Glen, where the River Nevis cascades and tumbles down from the surrounding mountains, on its way to the sea.

Route: 
The walk starts at the end of the car park. The path follows edge of the gorge through a wooded area. You follow that path until you come to an opening of flat land which you are presented with the falls at the far edge.  

Follow the path to end of the meadow and where you meet a footbridge which consists of 3 cables, the walk continues by returning and follow the path from you have just come from. 

Now you can cross the footbridge and extent the walk to bottom of the falls and then following the same route back to the car park.

Bigbury, Devon. (Circular walk)

Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Bigbury on Sea beach in South Devon is ideal for family holidays. Dusted with sand and lapped by shallow waters, the beach offers safe fun for groups particularly if you’ve got children in tow. In addition, Bigbury on Sea beach is dotted with rock pools, so there’s plenty of entertainment for budding marine biologists who like to explore.

Route: 

Mile 1;
– Take Ringmore Drive (off Parker Road). Walk past the Post Office. At the end of the road turn right and take the coastal path down into Challaborough Bay.

Mile 2;
Walk through the bay at the back of the beach and take the signposted coastal path to Ayrmer Cove.

Mile 3;
After descending to Ayrmer Cove, cross the stream and take the inland path that goes up the left-hand side of the valley, which will take you to Ringmore village. Stop at the Journeys’ End pub for a drink or a meal.

From the car park entrance through coastal path signs right, then the left wards the road and right onto the cliffs. Turn left alongside a garden fence, then left to the road. Cross over, go through a kissing gate and turn right uphill, passing through two big gates to reach a path junction near Mount Folly farm.

Turn left along the gritty track. At the field top is a path junction, go through the kissing gate and keep your head down hill, signed ring more, with a fence right. Pass through a metal gate, drop past the kissing gate keeper head to another on a farm track and walk straight up the next field, crossing a style onto A lane.

Crossover, follow signs for ring more, through metal gate. Walk down into the next Combe, keeping the hedge bank right. Go through the gate at the bottom and cross the stream on big boulders, then keep straight ahead, uphill, through a plantation and gate onto a narrow path between the fence and hedge.

Pass through a kissing gate bear right then turn immediately left uphill to have half junction passed through the kissing gate and follow the track to ring more. Turn right at that then then then after the church to find the journey and in on the right.

From the pub turn right down the narrow lane which gives way to a footpath. It winds winds round gardens to meet at Thomas Lane. Turn left down hill walk straight on down the track eventually passing the lower Manor farm, and keep going down past the National Trust Ima cave notice. After a small gate and stream crossing keep straight on a path junction

Asked for a kissing gate and walk towards the cave on a grassy path above the gym. Pass through a gate across the style, a second style gains the beach.

Follow coastal path signs left over a small footbridge then climb Ferry Street uphill to the clifftop and great views over there island. The cliffs are unstable here take care pathways to Charlbury basically want his holiday park.


Turn right along the beach road and pick up the truck up hill along the coast towards Bigbury on C. Go straight on to meet the tarmac road, then bear right on the coastal path to the car park.
